Mindfulness-Based Childbirth & Parenting Course

Are you scared to give birth? Overwhelmed about becoming a parent? Are you wanting to do something different this time to prepare for your second birth?

This class can help you cope with the fear and pain of childbirth and build the inner strength and confidence you will need for the journey!

We will learn about the normal physiology of childbirth while learning to access deep physical and mental relaxation.

The Mindfulness Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) program is based on the book Mindful Birthing by Nancy Bardacke, CNM and on the evidence-based Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program. To learn more go to


Mind in Labor

This course is the MBCP program but in a weekend format! If you want to learn to use your mind to work with the challenges of childbirth but don’t have to the time to invest in a full series, this course is for you!

The Mind in Labor workshop is a time to look deeply at pain and fear in childbirth and to cultivate present moment awareness for meeting whatever childbirth experience might unfold.

The workshop is an excellent complement to any childbirth education class, including refresher classes. It can also be helpful for those who anticipate a birth experience requiring special medical attention or for those who have had a previous difficult birth experience.

Introduction to Mindfulness

In this class we will discuss what mindfulness is, the benefits of a mindfulness practice, and ways you can build it into your life as it is now. Students will have the opportunity to experience some brief practices during the workshop, and will leave with some tools and resources that will help you continue to explore and develop a mindfulness practice that feels right for you!
